Minutes of the Member Meeting, 11/3/15

Minutes of Member Meeting November 3, 2015 Meeting was called to order by Pres. Jeff Middlebrook at 5:35 Board Members present were President Jeff Middlebrook, Vice President Tom Woliver, Secretary Peter Berk, and at large members Larry Barron, Frank Caso, Bob Grassa, Steve Thoresen, and John Varner. Treasurer Larry Chvatal, at large members Frank Caso, Bob Gentles and Ed Horbett were absent. A quorum existed and the meeting proceeded. President's Report: Until March when the time changes back to Daylight Savings Time, regular board meetings will be at 5:30. Mention was made of the October Board-member meeting. There was no Pro Shop report. Treasurer's Report: As Larry C was not present, President Jeff made mentioned "there was cash in the bank." Membership Report: Bill Middlebrook indicated that there renewals would be required to be made by December 20 to avoid having a gap in Membership. Wednesday tournament report: The 11/4 Bonus event was threatened by rain, at 60 participants. Mention was made that the the 11/18 event, Berk's Folly, would be a 2-man Blind Draw event. Such Penalties as might be assigned for late dropouts or no-shows may result in culprits losing their preferred tee times, possibly being moved to the end of the tee sequence. Sunday tournament report: Steve Toresen advised of the upcoming event to be posted in the website. Sr. Traveling team: Larry Barron reported the Traveling Team had succeeded in Beating Sycuan (for the 4th year in a row) to advance, vs the winner of the Cottonwood / Coronado match. Old business: Nominations are open; election as required by the By-Laws, is to be the first Tuesday of December at 7PM. On that date, it will be proposed that such election will hereafter be at the Annual Election and Awards Dinner, so long as there might one. Proposal might be presented that Board members hold their position for 2 years, with 1/2 being elected every other year. There being no further business, upon motion made, and duly seconded, the meeting was adjourned at 6:00pm. Peter Berk, Secretary
