Wednesday 1/27 Pinehurst Results
We had a great turnout for our annual Pinehurst (alternate shot) event. The scores started out pretty good, and they just kept getting lower.
And lower.
And lower.
First, there was our tournament director Peter Berk and his partner Bob Gentles, who were feeling pretty good about their net 63, until they were informed that they were losing by 5...just in their flight!
Then that 58 was bested by a "Homero Blancas" round of 55.
That didn't last long, as the next group posted a "Full Deck" (52).
But wait, there's more.
Or in this case, less.
Imagine that that score was itself beaten by 3 not two groups later! 49 ! ?
Just as Peter's red sharpie died on him, he let us in on a little secret. When doing his handicap calculations, he had forgotten to divide his final number by 2. Thus, everyone's handicaps were WAY TOO BIG. After a brief discussion with those in the room, it was decided to cut every team's handicap in half, as it would not effect the outcome with regards to position, but would just leave us with some much more realistic scores.
Here are those scores.
