Event Format How it Works
Keep Your Better Half

An individual event where only your best holes count.

How it Works

  • Each player plays their own ball for all 18 holes
  • A 9-hole score is created using your best holes by par type:
    • Best 2 of the 4 Par 3s
    • Best 2 of the 4 Par 5s
    • Best 5 of the 10 Par 4s

Key Details

  • Net Double Bogey maximum per hole
  • Round is still postable, so all holes must be played and scored

Scoring

  • Your final score is the sum of your selected 9 best holes

Tiebreakers / Card-Offs

  • Ties are broken by the difficulty of the 9 holes that made up your score.
  • Each hole has a stroke index from 1 (hardest) to 18 (easiest). The stroke indexes of your 9 scoring holes are added together to produce a single tiebreaker total.
  • The lower the total, the better the tiebreaker, because a low total means your score was built on harder holes.
  • Example: a par on the #2 stroke index hole counts more in your favor than a par on the #12 stroke index hole.
  • Card-offs are applied within each flight.

Event Description

Since this was just a regular individual to begin with, we are going to move our rained-out Keep your Better Half format over to this event.  Which means, you will play all 18 holes like normal, but only the scores on your 2 best par 3's, 5 best par 4's, and 2 best par 5's will count, leaving you with a 9 hole event score (and an 18 hole postable round, which I will post).

$20 entry covers event and Closest to the Pins

Optional gross skins game

Tee times from 7:30-9:30

Event Director will post all rounds
