This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you visit balboaparkgolf.com (the "Site"). The Site is operated by Balboa Park Men's Golf Club (the "Club"), which is responsible for member accounts and Club operations. Advertising shown on the public areas of the Site is provided separately through the Site developer's own Google advertising account, as described in the Third-Party Advertising section below. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
We collect two general categories of information:
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. The Site uses cookies to keep members signed in and to remember preferences. In addition, third parties such as Google use cookies to serve advertising on the public areas of the Site, as described in the next section. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some member features of the Site may not work correctly if you do.
The public (non-member) areas of the Site display advertising provided through the Site developer's Google AdSense account. The Club does not operate this advertising, and advertising is not shown within logged-in member areas of the Site. In connection with serving ads, the following applies:

We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used. Google Analytics relies on cookies to collect aggregate usage data such as page views and session duration. This measurement applies to the whole Site — including when you are signed in as a member — so we can compare how members and public visitors use the Site and improve it accordingly.
We do not send Google any information that identifies you personally. We do not send your name, email address, golf handicap details, or your member account identifier. The only thing that distinguishes a member visit from a public visit in our analytics is a simple, non-identifying label ("member" or "public") attached to the measurement.
If you opt out of personalized advertising and tracking — including by using a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, or the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" choice described below — Google Analytics is turned off for your visits entirely, whether or not you are signed in.
Member information is used to operate Club membership and events, communicate with members, and maintain and improve the Site. Member information is not sold to third parties. Advertising on public pages is provided as described in the Third-Party Advertising section above.
The Club does not share personal member information with outside parties except as necessary to operate the Club (for example, our email delivery and hosting providers) or as required by law. Advertising and analytics partners described above receive only the limited, automatically collected data needed to provide their services, and our analytics provider does not receive any information that identifies members personally.
This Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
You may control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of personalized advertising using the links in the Third-Party Advertising section above. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it automatically: both advertising and Google Analytics are turned off for your visits, whether or not you are signed in. This is the same outcome as the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" choice. Members may review or update their account information by signing in, or by contacting the Club using the details below.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When it is, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
