“Kukuya, we were informed, for those of us somewhat agronomy challenged, is similar to Bermuda but tends to resemble the appendage sprouting from the rectum of a swine. In a pig's a__! Someone remarked.”
Oct. 1, 2013 It was a quiet, "no", subdued, "no",-- not very raucous or "Balboa like" crowd that was on hand for the 6:40 pm gavel by Pres. Al. Fortunately, seated, was a quorum of officers, sufficient to make it legal, in spite of the tamed & tepid assemblage. Course conditions, though discusting, were cussed & discussed, more the former than the latter. The lack of grass, we were told, would soon be rectified by the emergence of Kukuya. Kukuya, we were informed, for those of us somewhat agronomy challenged, is similar to Bermuda but tends to resemble the appendage sprouting from the rectum of a swine.--- In a pig's a__!! Someone remarked!! --"Film at 11:00". Our geezer squad has once again qualified for the finals of the "county seniors team play". A win there would add a large diamond to the solid gold medallion decorating the bags of the 2012 victors. In a pig's a__!! Once more was heard!! Treasurer, Jeff Middlebrook reported some $3500 in the bank, not bad for a muni in the "HOOD". Papa Middlebrook continues to add flesh to our membership with two more on the list. Now standing at 265. 50% of those two were at the meeting as Jeff Harris, (6.7), was welcomed aboard. Incidentally, dues for 2014 are now due. $75.00, renewal and $95.00 for newbys. Please get them in early!!! The proposal for the new club house is still being proposed,--- personally, I propose we just dress up what we have, -- take a look at Bruton's terrific photo of our historic place on the hill and imagine what a few improvements would do for it. New toilets, new restaurant, a nice balcony. Now we're talkin'!! Lots of new tournaments in store for our own "silly season".-- Great way to garner more "DASH FOR CASH" numbers. If that's still a puzzlement, "no worries", It's all spelled out in the fine print on the "GYPSY'S", (snake oil, swing correction) supplement. The meeting was called to a close at or about 7;30pm. ED Horbett conducted a quite professional & orderly raffle. Well that's all the news that's fit to print!! See you at the Wed. tournament. Roy Long, sec.
