Just two months left in the year and if you have read Larry's report on cash payouts, it's been a profitable year for many members of the club.
Our club meeting for November 5th (6:30 PM) is the nomination meeting for our 2014 Officers and Board of Directors. If you are interested in serving please contact Peter Berk ASAP. Elections are at the December meeting. At 5:30 the board is meeting with Jeremy Pitt from SCGA to discuss club status, communications, club programs, leadership and challenges for the future. This is an excellent time for us to ask questions of SCGA. So, if you have questions or items you want brought up please contact me or and board member and let us know.
The board met yesterday to set our tournament schedule for 2014 and it should be a fun one. It will be posted soon and placed on the web site. We also discussed the ongoing problem of members signing up for events and not showing up and not providing advanced notice. This is unfair to the other members and to the city. This issue has been batted around for a long time, so here is the decision. If you are going to miss a Sunday event you must notify the event organizer no later than 8 PM on Friday. For a Wednesday event it is 8 PM Friday. Failure to not show, without notification will result in an automatic $10 deduction from earnings made. Failure to show reduces winner payouts and is lost green fees to the city. As Mike Turko would say - "It just an't fair".
Remember, we have tournaments on the 13th and 20th (Wednesdays) and Sunday the 24th and the 13th and 24th are Dash for Cash events. In the mean time - Grip It and Rip It!
