Red, White, & Blue (wed individ) featured plenty of fireworks.

“Yikes! The Gypsy has done it again! First we're subjected to sensory overload crash, with the indecipherable "DASH FOR CASH"! And now a "TWIST" that would befuddle even "OLIVER";; Tell me again - Whats a "Grassa & Woliver"???”
The July Red, White, & Blue which was actually played as a White, Red, & Blue by guys wearing orange, black, and green shirts. Oh hell, I just confused myself!! Anyway their was fireworks abound in the top flight. John Hoffman started hot going 5 under, aided by an eagle on #2, after only 7 holes. After his 32 front nine he ended in second position with a gross 70. So who was hotter than that you ask? None other than Paul Rathbun who opened with eagles on #2 and #5. Yes indeed, he drove the green on #5 and then made the putt. By the end of the day, he putted for 5 total eagles with two makes and posted a winning -4 under 68. Well played big guy!! The big boom at the bay on the 4th woke Don Diener up as he put in one of his better rounds of the year with a 69 net to take 1st in flight #4. Darlo Clemen's net 68 was a flight winner as was Rob DeLacy with a 67 net. Gale Van Nostern (79) took the gross in flight #2 and Frank Caso (81) nabbed gross honors in Flight #3. Jon Curtis finished it off when his 89 took gross in flight #4. And finally: Some new terms were invented in this event. From now on if you leave a birdie putt in the jaws, one turn short, it will be forever know as a "Woliver". Any putt that curls one turn past because of to much speed has been declared a "Grassa". Yesterday I won the competition with 3 1/2 "Woliver's" and 1 "Grassa". And yes, if I had another "Grassa" it would have been a full house. A 1/2 "Woliver" is a birdie that would have went in the side door, there are no 1/2 "Grassa's" No word on how big of a weekly purse Bob & Tom will be offering to their weekly champion, but hopefully alcohol will be involved, start keeping track!! The results and payoffs: Gross & Net positions pay the same: 1st=$50 2nd=$35 3rd=$20 4th=$10 (4th is only paid in the 3rd & 4th flight because of more entries) Flight #1 GROSS: 1.......68....Paul Rathbun 2.......70....John Hoffman 3.......71....Tom Woliver NET: 1..70=66...Mike McHugh 2..78=68...Zach Manuel (won card off) 2..78=68...Bruce Barr Flight #2 GROSS: 1.......79....Gale Van Nostern 2.......80....Joey Busalacchi 3.......81....Jeff Middlebrook NET: 1..82=67...Robert DeLacy 2..83=69...Del Kay (won card off) 3..83=69...Chuck Lasher Flight #3 GROSS: 1.......81....Frank Caso 2.......86....Tom Withers 3.......86....Larry Faria 4.......87....Steve Bachelor NET: 1..85=68...Darlo Clemens 2..88=69...Ed Horbett (won card off) 3..86=69...Tk Dobrynski 4..87=71...Joe Wood Flight #4 GROSS: 1.......89....Jon Curtis 2.......91....Ray Prazen 3.......92....Al Bruton 4.......93....Ben Burris NET: 1..101=69..Don Diener 2...90=70...Cal Zissel 3...94=71...Roy Long (won card off) 4...99=71...Glen Rose

Sorry for the tardy reply but your post scared the "Dickens" out of me. I think you understand the concept and are just upset my total was higher than yours. Then again, maybe not! with love The gypsy
