The weather was HOT! Scores, not so much - in Wednesday 11/9 individual

Yes, it was hot but the strong Santa Ana winds ended up having their say as only four golfers posted red numbers on the board. The scoreboard that usually looks like the election map last night (covered in RED) was pretty tame today. Could it be the late night election watcher effect? Maybe. So which two players really lit up the course? Well, Steve Dani won the gross in Flight #5 with a gross 92 but that equals at 66 net. Steve was the lowest net of the day as ONLY 4 players had scores that forced Peter Berk to get out his red pen. I believe that's a first in a Wednesday individual event. The other guys that found red numbers was none other than Club Champ Tom Woliver who posted a gross 70. Yes, that's a red number. It also equals a 70 net which was the second lowest net for the day behind Dani. The final two were Charlie Chance and Larry Chvatal both won gross titles but their nets equaled 71. That was it for sub par gross and net rounds. Other players winning flight were Joey Busalacchi, Bob Grassa, Ray Prazen, Ted Hynes, Joe Pikus, TK Dobryski, Bill Miller, and George Evanoff. Peter split up the flight based on handicap spreads so that created many more smaller flights (6 in all) to try an even out the competition. You also may have noticed that after a 2 1/2 month absence Tom "the assassin" Creamer was back on the course. The hot weather couldn't melt the rust on his game after the lay off and he missed the money.
