Men's Club hosts first "away" tournament of the year. (Shadowridge)

The first of Peter Berk's away tournaments found about 50 club members gracing the ground of Shadowridge County Club for a good old individual event. Modest price buy in ($40 plus $15 entry) netted the players access, carts and prize money for another well run event. Even a little rain couldn't spoil the party. Now being the first private club event let me tell you something about Shadowridge. The green were about as fast as putting on a oiled up baby's butt. Not only were they slick, but most had slopes that make Mt Everest look level. Hit it past the pin and your chances of keeping it on the green were about as good as getting laid in a lesbo bar. Well, maybe it wasn't quite that bad but defensive putting was in order. The equal playing field saw many new faces on the victory podium. Club newcomer AJ Litrownik grabbed a 1st, so did Tom Spencer and Joe Cunha. But you can't keep all the top guys down with Del Kay, John Varner, Dave Struwe, and John Hoffman also taking wins. Since this event was away, the entry fee was collected by the club and returned to the players as a $795 all cash payout. Just a little gas and beer money for the top guys. Be sure and thank Peter when you see him cause this was his baby and he did all the work. You can always buy him a cold one cause from what I understand is he never says NO. side note: Mr Berk had a small problem with the wet pavement and ended up with two stab wounds just below his knee. He ended up looking like Mel Gibson in "Braveheart" only without the kilt. Oh, lets cancel that last thought.
