“Gamblers you say,- you bet they are!! But lets get on with the business at hand,- later we'll return to that "Grand Stand"!! The treasury, healthy, wealthy & wise. The membership climbing say the Middlebrook guys!! Capt. Larry "full throttle" Chvatal was full of praise for his team of go-lowers.”
03/05/13 Pres. Al, everybody's pal, recently returned, safe & "not quite" sound from his travels all around, opened the meeting at 1/2 past 6:00pm. On hand were the regulars, not quite all, actually, not too many, and board members, a few, but for a quorum, a-plenty. The laughing table was quiet, at least at first, but towards the end, nearly a riot!! Blame it on Moore & Alviar!! Gamblers you say,- you bet they are!! But lets get on with the business at hand,- later we'll return to that "Grand Stand"!! The treasury, healthy, wealthy & wise. The membership climbing say the Middlebrook guys!! Capt. Larry "full throttle" Chvvatal was full of praise for his team of go-lowers. That Saturday group is, in-an-out quick, you lose just once & you don't even get flowers. They made the finals, besting the pre-lim three. Then crashed & burned at formidable, Double Tree. The geezer squad has a much longer season, these gents are old and for whatever reason, seem to require a slower pace. Capt. Al is proud of his charges, they're not quite leading the pack, but are definitely in the race. Then came adjournment, and "shake-um-up" time. Again & again the tickets were spun. Again & again came cheers from the rear. The isles were full of the riverboat crew. First David, then Todd, & then a reverse of the same. I don't mind sayin', we were getting tired of the game. Ollie was sweating, it wasn't his fault!! He spun the cage with a double, double pump. Again from the rear came the Alviar cheer!! He made his way to the front, stopping only to swig from his Heineken's beer. Now at the front he sharply announced for all us to hear!! "Let it ride". Let it all ride, for one giant spin!! But in order to win, lets all cough up a ten. Now the room was "A-BUZZ" and as mentioned before, almost a riot!! Ollie, nearly buried in tickets & tens, handled it bravely & quieted the crew. The vessel was spun amid cries from the floor, "SHAKE-UM-UP",---"SHAKE-UM-UP" MORE!! He did his best, that's all he could do. Too win you must gamble, too win you must score, who better to win, than our very own, TODD MOORE!!! The room was a wreck as we departed the night, but it was early enough to pick up the stuff & get Tobey's ready for the Wed. rush. Next meeting, Tuesday, April 2nd. 6:30pm. Come, get in on the fun. Roy Long sec.
